Where is my project data stored?
Your projects are stored in:
- Database: Secure cloud database with encryption at rest
- Location: Cloud infrastructure with industry-standard security
- Backups: Automated daily backups for disaster recovery
Browser storage: Some temporary data (UI preferences, cache) stored locally in your browser
Is my data encrypted?
Yes, on multiple levels:
In transit (HTTPS):
- All data between your browser and Farline AI servers uses TLS 1.3 encryption
- Modern, industry-standard security protocol
- Protects against eavesdropping and tampering
At rest:
- Database encryption enabled
- Project data encrypted when stored
- Backup encryption for disaster recovery
Authentication:
- Passwords securely hashed, never stored in plain text
- Secure token-based access

Who can see my projects?
Access control:
- You: Full access to projects you create
- Your organization: If using team/org features (when available)
- Farline AI team: Only for support purposes, with your permission
- No one else: Projects are private by default
AI models:
- Your project data is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for AI features
- Anthropic's data policy: Not used for training models

Can Farline AI employees see my data?
Support access only:
- Farline AI employees can access your data only for support purposes
- Requires your explicit consent
- Access is logged and audited
- Used solely to resolve technical issues you report
No routine access:
- No one browses your projects for any reason
- No marketing analysis of project content
- No selling data to third parties
AI and Data Processing
What data is sent to AI providers?
When using AI chat features, we send:
- Your chat messages
- Current project definition
- Conversation history in the session
Not sent:
- Your email address or personal information
- Other projects you've created
- Account details
How does Anthropic use my data?
Anthropic Claude API:
- Processes your prompts to generate responses
- Does not use your data to train their models
- Does not retain your data after processing (per Anthropic's policy)

- Your project data is your intellectual property
- We don't claim any rights to your project plans
Can I use Farline AI without AI features?
Currently: AI chat is core to the Farline AI experience
Alternative: You can write project definitions directly without using AI chat
- Edit the project definition manually in the editor
- Charts will still generate
- Forecasts still calculated
No AI data sent when editing the project definition directly without chat
Account and Authentication
How is my account secured?
Security features:
- Password strength requirements
- Email verification
- Secure session management
- Automatic session expiration
Your responsibilities:
- Use a strong, unique password
- Don't share your account credentials
- Sign out on shared computers
What happens if I forget my password?
- Click "Forgot Password" on sign-in page
- Enter your email address
- Receive password reset link
- Create new password
Security note: We can't "recover" your password because we don't store it in plain text
Can I delete my account?
Yes, you can:

- We'll delete your account and associated data
- Backups are purged within 30 days
Before deletion:
- Export your projects (you won't be able to access them after)
- Download any data you want to keep

- We'll email before deleting
- You can reactivate to prevent deletion
Deleted accounts:
- Data deleted immediately upon request
- Backups purged within 30 days
- Some anonymized analytics may be retained
What happens if I stop using Farline AI?
Your data remains accessible:
- Sign in anytime to access projects
- No expiration of free accounts
- Export your data before leaving if desired
Recommendation: Export projects periodically as personal backup
